Random Thought

Why do women's favorite romantic movies always seem to involve the main female character cheating on her current spouse (usually fiancé)? It's actually worse now because in the 80's/90's, the guy would be some überjerk possibly abusive. Now it's just some nice guy who made the foolish choice of going to her house for Christmas and then one week later, he's riding the bus home with a diamond ring burning a soul-searing hole in his pocket.

If I had a girl and her favorite movie was The Notebook, I would be Lord Concernicus, ruler of all the lands in the Concernia Empire.

I think asking "So do you have some true love back in your hometown I should be aware of" should be added to the list of questions you should ask before getting serious about someone.

Yeah this really bothers me too. It seems like these romantic comedy movies endorse infidelity and for the woman to totally discard any man who doesn't seem to be the perfect fit, at that exact moment in time. I say exact moment in time because more often than not, the ones they cheated with are ones that they could never hold a successful relationship with.

It seems as though the princess movies have evolved into the dream of finding the right man regardless of how devoted the current man is. As long as the new man is spontaneous and adventurous, then he's the one, because the old relationship is dry.

But you watch, these women will reach the dry spot even faster with the new guy and realize they were better off with the old one. What a mess.

Also, I just found your blog and I've been reading it.
